You Rock!

You Rock!

Have you ever seen the inside of a geode? They have the most beautiful, sparkly inside, even if the outside is not much to look at. Actually, the outside is rather ugly. It is a usually a boring grey or brown and covered with bumps. You would never know by looking at it that it has such beauty on the inside.

We as humans often judge others according to their outer beauty. We never take the time to see the inner beauty of others. Luckily, Jesus is not like that. When He looks at us He sees the beautiful child that He created. Just like that geode, He knows that we are beautiful and sparkly on the inside.

He created each of us with a purpose in mind. Even though we are sinners, He still loves us and wants to be in our lives. Even while we were still sinners, He chose to give all of Himself for us through His death on the cross. He sees the beauty of each of us and knows what great gifts He has bestowed on us. These gifts are meant to further His kingdom and bring others to Him. That is part of His plan in each of our lives. He wants ALL people to be allowed to feel His love. There are many who don’t know Him or have strayed from Him and He is working to bring them to Him through us! If we fail to realize our gifts or fail to use them, the souls He meant for us to reach may not be found. Think about that. What if you were meant to reach someone and help them get to heaven? What if apathy, fear, judgment, laziness, or distraction caused you to fail in this task? That is kind of scary isn’t it? That the souls of others might be in our hands?

Let’s start looking for the beauty in all people. Look at them the way the Lord looks at them- as His children. If we do this we will begin to love ALL people, no matter what their outside looks like and no matter what their sins may be. We can only reach them and bring them to Him through love, not through judgment or disdain.

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”
1 John 4:7
