Bad Gas

Have you ever filled your car up with gas and gotten just a few miles down the road to have it sputter and die? Then you find out later that the gas you put in the tank was tainted? This can happen when the gas has water in it. The only option in this case is to empty the tank to get rid of the bad gas and replace it with fresh gas.

This gas tank is a lot like us. Sometimes what we have inside gets tainted. When Satan has managed to water down our faith, the only option we have is to empty ourselves. This way we can allow Christ to fill us. By empty ourselves, I mean clear out all of the junk inside: the negativity, gossip, judgment, spite, pride, anger, and the list goes on. Anything that might taint the relationship we have with Christ should be dumped to make more room for Him. 

Once you have emptied your tank of all of Satan’s junk, then you have room to be filled with something true, something real. Once you’ve filled your tank with the real thing, you will feel the difference. 

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
