Overheating

Overheating

Under the hood of your car you will find a small plastic compartment that holds coolant. On the side of this compartment there is a small tube with an opening on the end that is meant to allow excess coolant to overflow when the engine gets hot. Christians are kind of like this coolant compartment. Yeah, that sounds weird, I know, but think about it. When we are spiritually “on fire”, the excess overflows to others.

In a car, overheating isn’t necessarily a good thing, but in our faith it is an AWESOME thing! When we are on fire for the Lord and are so connected with Him that we can feel Him nudging us and hear the still small voice throughout our everyday life, we will follow where He is leading us. When we follow, He will lead us to change the lives of others in so many ways. The warmth within us can spread to others and cause a chain reaction. Soon we see many around us who are also on fire for the Lord. When a group of believers become on fire for the Lord, great things can happen in the world around us.

“May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.” 1 Thessalonians 3:12
