Where We Live
The Lord often comes to us right where we are. When we are sinners He is still seeking us. Yes, I know that sounds strange, because we are the ones who are supposed to be seeking Him, right? That is true we should seek the Lord every day of our lives, but many times when we are lost on the path, the Lord is seeking us.
“Then Jesus told them this parable: ‘Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?’” Luke 15:3-4
As the scripture shows us, the Lord seeks us when we have wandered away from Him. He comes to us wherever we are. In this same way, we should be seeking out people that are far away from God. However, if we seek and find them and don’t try to see the world from where they are, then we may just push them farther away.
Often, we as Christians get too caught up in our own goodness. We never intend to do this, but we just start to see the world around us and sometimes catch ourselves shaking our heads at other’s missteps. When we see these missteps, we should be reaching out with love, allowing them to see that forgiveness and the love of an awesome Lord is right in front of them, all they have to do is ask for it and turn toward Him. If we take the time to see them for who they are and try to see the world from their eyes, we may be able to understand them and reach them without judgment or condemnation in our eyes.
“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” Luke 6:37
